Workout Recovery – How Do You Relax?
After a really tough workout, most of us need to take a step back and cool off for the night (or a few days). I like to work the soreness out of my muscles with a massage and a bath with Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate). I'm not talking about a professional massage – I mean just me or the honey rubbing some circulation through the muscles to get the blood flow up. If you can afford a professional massage after every workout, then hey, more power to you.
In reality, you don't need anything special to wind down after either a hard workout or a tough day at work – they're both equally intense sometimes! Here are a few things that I've tried in the past to relax at the end of the day. Fair warning, a lot of these don't have much to do with working out, but in some strange way they're calming nonetheless, not to mention incredibly useful.
Steam Bath – I've always loved the relaxing sensations provided by a tall facial steamer. Jar, beaker, pot – however you hold your boiling water, nothing beats the way it opens up the pores and pulls blood flow and oxygen to your face.
Fiber Supplements – You heard me, and I'm not ashamed of it. Nothing prevents you from relaxing quite like a frustrating case of constipation. My biggest struggle is deciding which one I like better: Sunsweet Prune Juice Vs. Vitafusion Gummy Fiber.
Lotion – Body lotion isn't just for ladies. If you're spending so much time working on your muscles, you might as well make sure your skin is good enough as well. I'll usually smear on some lotion after the Epsom salt bath, and for those tough to reach places I like to use a lotion applicator back. Walgreens has them but you can also find some pretty low priced ones online.

Type 2 Diabetes: Exercise and Actos Medication
Combining medication and exercise is never something you should do unless you talk to your doctor first – It's something I've always stood by when giving workout and exercise advice. You just don't want to take any chances with your health, and while exercise is an excellent way to deal with Type 2 diabetes (more on that in a second), there are certain medications that probably aren't the best choice to combine with exercise.
Actos Lawsuits Picking Up Steam
One of the more common drugs for Type 2 diabetes is Actos, which is manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals. The main website for Actos states that this drug, when used with diet and exercise (so far so good), will allow the body to make better use of insulin and prevents the liver from pumping out excess sugar, which is one way a diabetic's blood sugar can spike dangerously.
It sounds pretty good, except for the small fact that Actos also comes with a warning from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) that it may cause bladder cancer in some patients. I want to just go ahead and say that if you've been using Actos and have been diagnosed with bladder cancer, you can file an Actos lawsuit against the company.
Exercise and Type 2 Diabetes
It goes without saying that you should ever go off your medication without consulting your doctor, but you also shouldn't hesitate to ask about the benefits of adding some good, healthy exercise to your daily routine. Exercise has been proven to:
- Burn excess fat, which improves the body's sensitivity to insulin
- Lower blood pressure
- Help the body use its own natural supply of insulin more effectively
- Increase energy levels
- Improve bone density
That's just a small number of the benefits you can get from exercise. Whether or not you're on medication for type 2 diabetes, you may be able to improve your quality of life with some good old fashioned exercise.
Husband's Birthday
I appreciate the guest post, Vito Rivers.
Is it totally lame for me to buy my husband Direct TV for his birthday? I can't decide it is would be okay. I just don't know if it would be equivalent to him buying me a toaster or something. Or would it be like him buying me an X-box because I will get to enjoy it too? I just can't decide, but I am really tempted to do it because I know that we would love it. I went to http://www.Direct.TV/ the other day and was reading all about it. I think I am going to do it. We have never been ones to go all out or extreme for birthdays, but this would be kind of fun. He would be totally surprised, because he hasn't even asked for it. I just know that he would love watching all the sports channels. He always has football on during football season and he is usually switching between two games at once! This way he will be able to watch more than one game at once.

Working Out While Going Through Alcohol Rehab
Everybody has to go through certain problems and struggles throughout the course of their lives; I know that probably just as much as anybody. One of the questions that I've been asked in the past is what kind of an impact exercise and working out will have on drug or alcohol rehabilitation.
Plain and simple, any type of mental or physical stimulation during rehab is going to have a positive effect on your recovery. That includes walking, jogging, weight lifting, and sports, just to scratch the surface. In fact, in Atlanta, drug abuse rehab centers pretty much always include an exercise room because of the simple fact that study after study has proven that regular exercise can shorten recovery time.
What Kinds of Exercises?
I mentioned a second ago that there are two factors that will really help someone in rehab: mental stimulation and physical stimulation. The right type of workout can provide both. You should always talk to your mentor or doctor about what level of activity you should be doing, which will really depend on your current health, but the main goal with an Atlanta drug rehab exercise routine is variety. Switch it up! Get your mind working around new and different exercises, while simultaneously pushing your body to use new muscle groups.
For our friends the Bradford Health Services in Atlanta, alcohol rehab and drug recovery is a journey. It's a journey to health, happiness, and vitality using the most natural and proven methods available. So if you want to feel better about your life and take those first steps to recovery, try incorporating a daily exercise routine into your schedule.

Diet Solution Program Review - Isabelle de los Rios
Click here to go to the Diet Solution Program Website
There are plenty of fly-by-night diet programs out there that really just end up making your wallet lighter, and not you.
Some of them work, some of them do absolutely nothing.
The Diet Solution Program institutes a change in your overall meal plan. You don't need to strictly stick to any particular foods, rather you find out what foods work well with your metabolism and base most of your meals on those food types.
To lose weight fast, you don't need to invest in some over-hyped diet scheme. The question of how to lose weight is not a difficult one. For centuries, people have known that a little bit of exercise and the right foods go a long way, not just towards weight loss but towards better health in general.
By eating correctly you will have more energy, increased stamina, you will think faster, and you will experience an overall sense of well being.
The Diet Solution Program shows you how to eat well. It includes low fat recipes that taste delicious (no cardboard meals here) and a few simple exercise techniques that will help you lose the fat and get rid of cellulite.
I tried this diet out for awhile and found that it really works. The exercises are fairly routine but easy to do. I personally found that a short isometrics routine every day in addition to the healthy recipes the book provides work absolutely perfectly together.
If you're not familiar with the benefits of isometric exercises, do a quick Google search for it. They can be done anywhere at any time of day.
For a little background, the Diet Solution Program was developed over the course of 15 years by a woman named Isabel De Los Rios. Thousands of people have received benefits from this eating style, which is NOT a fad diet.
