Blueberries
are awesome. I'm just going to start out by saying that. They're
packed full of the things you need to keep going strong with your
workouts, and they don't taste half bad either. People who study
these kinds of things estimate that these tiny blue berries have been
in existence for over 13,000 years.
What
are the benefits of blueberries? For one thing, they've been shown in
clinical trials to lower blood pressure. A study from 2010 found that
daily intake of at least 2 cups of blueberries can drastically lower
blood pressure.
Now I
know what you're thinking- blueberries are expensive! But don't
worry. Frozen blueberries are just as full of nutrients as their
fresh brethren, so buy frozen in bulk and stock up. You also don't
need to eat 2 cups a day. About half a cup a day or less is enough to
get their immune boosting properties and increased energy levels.
Try a
bowl of tasty Greek yogurt topped with raw cashews and a handful of
blueberries for breakfast.
