Tip: Learn the techniques
I've mentioned this plenty
of times here on the site, but it always bears mentioning one more
time. If you're planning to get into this for the long haul, you're
going to save yourself a lot of grief and frustration by slowing down
at the beginning and learning the right form and techniques for your
exercises.
Obviously I don't mean that
you need to figure out EVERY exercise in the book, but there are a
lot of beginner exercises that you're going to be doing for the rest
of your life. And really, advanced lifting techniques are mostly just
variations of these basic exercises.
How can you do this? Look, I
know as well as anyone that gym memberships and personal trainers can
be really expensive. You can go a long way working out with nothing
more than a few home workout plans, and for the technique you can
watch Youtube videos demonstrating the proper form.
I have a lot of Youtube
videos here on the site that you can start with, but just do a simple
search for what you need, such as "bench press technique."
