known as a clapping push up or a plyometric push up, the launch up is
a pushup in which your hands leave the ground on the upward thrust.
You are literally launching your body into the air.
This is
a plyometric exercise that really gives some explosive power to your
arms, chest, and shoulders, which is a perfect bodyweight workout routine for boxers who need that quick, powerful jab.
If you
have weak elbows or aren't in the best physical condition, please
don't try this exercise yet. Start with a regular pushup and work
your way up to the plyometric push up.
